Class Registration v3.0 - Oregon City Community Education

Lectures and Workshops

Free!
New workshop for ages 11-15!

The word "preservation" is known as the act of keeping something alive. The preserve Our Past Art and Poetry Contest does just this by keeping Oregon City's spirit alive through history, art and poetry!

May 1st marks the start of National Preservation Month so join us for this workshop to get the month started! Emily Tierney with the Francis Ermatinger House, in partnership with Three Rivers Artist Guild, will take you through a timeline of Oregon City's history and the historic sites that are still around the city today. There will also be information about writing poems and how to get started with making art. You will walk away from this workshop with many ideas for your own art or poetry piece and will feel inspired to submit something to this year's Preserve Our Past Art and Poetry Contest!

The deadline for the Preserve Our Past Art and Poetry Contest is May 15th, so by attending this workshop you will still have plenty of time to create a piece and get it submitted for a chance to win up to $150.00.

For more information about the contest and how to submit a piece, visit: https://www.orcity.org/parksandrecreation/preserve-our-past-art-and-poetry-contest
