For beginners and intermediates.
We will take advantage of Mt. Hood's weather patterns and either snowshoe on the west side or east side depending on the best conditions. Guides/instructors will be with you at all times to ensure your safety and satisfaction. Trips will usually be between 2-6 miles and less than 750 foot elevation gain/loss. Cost includes transportation, snowshoes and guide. Bring waterproof hiking boots and proper equipment.
Join this fast growing sport of hiking on top of the snow. Snowshoeing is a wonderful aerobic exercise and an easy way to explore our snow covered forests. Join us frequently since each trip is unique due to different weather conditions and trail destinations. We all start off together then in the afternoon, typically we split into a slower and faster paced groups.
Pick up Location: Gateway Max Station, 9816 NE Pacific St. Portland, OR and 99th Ave.(between Halsey and Glisan)
From I-84 East take I-205 south directions. From I-205 South, exit # 21A, Glisan St., turn left on Glisan, left on 99th. From I-84 West exit # 7, Halsey, Gateway, right on 99th. From I-205 North, exit # 21A, Glisan, right on Glisan, left on 99th. Meet at bus stand #33 where NE Pacific St. deadends at MAX tracks and adjacent parking lot.
